Ultra is beautiful.  A short three-word phrase at the very bottom of the poster. Not very profound  nor heart touching at first sight to be honest. Some of you might even notice we are not being original here at all. Just trying to keep up as the new tourism slogan - "Real is beautiful" is being adopted in the country... and you are right.

However, as Tomas  Ramanauskas the creative director of the New! advertising agency stated:
“We have a message for the world: real things are beautiful to us. Real is beautiful. When you want to get away from fake smiles, the concrete jungle, industrial madness, plastic architecture or the conveyor belt of tourism, visiting Lithuania is a great decision. Lithuania is the place where real things are valued, even if they are a bit off or imperfect. We are proud of our imperfections. In other words, we see the beauty in them. This is our new tourism statement. Unvarnished, free of cosmetic fixes, sincere, real.”

Great words that work on so many levels both for Lithuania and Ultra running in general.

What is a better way to really experience a country rather than see it from as close as one can get, feel the ground beneath your feet, with every step taken? And what is a better way to know oneself rather than spending a day testing what your mind and body are capable of - breaking the barrier after barrier.

Positive and energetic one second, on the verge of exhaustion the other... then suddenly, full of determination just moments after - wondering, where did all that came from.
Definitely not perfect, but truly you "unvarnished, free of cosmetic fixes, sincere, real"... simply beautiful.
